# What's a wallet?

A wallet on the Kadena blockchain is a digital storage for your digital assets, much like a bank. However, as the owner of the wallet, you are responsible for the security of your funds.

In the Web3 space, a wallet serves as a form of identification and is necessary for all interactions. It is the key to accessing NFTs and other digital assets, as it is used to exchange tokens, purchase NFTs, and store these assets.

It is important to take steps to ensure the safety of your assets in your wallet. This includes using a strong password, regularly backing up your wallet, and keeping your software up to date. A wallet serves as a digital passport in the Web3 space, and you will always need it for any digital interactions.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.arkade.fun/nft-guide/wallets/whats-a-wallet.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
